Eligibility and essential qualifications

Educational requirements vary by post and must be satisfied as on the last date of online registration (21.09.2026). CGPA/OGPA holders must convert grades to percentage as per their university rules and ensure results were declared on or before 27.09.2026.

Nationality and age limits

Candidates must meet nationality requirements and the prescribed age limits as on 01.09.2026. Age relaxations apply to reserved categories as per IBPS rules.

Age relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC (NCL); 10 years for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD); additional relaxations apply to Ex-Servicemen and, for Office Assistant, to certain categories of women as notified. Only one other category of relaxation may be combined with SC/ST/OBC where applicable.

Application fee

Application fees/intimation charges are payable online only during the registration window. Candidates applying for more than one post must pay fees separately for each application.

Bank transaction charges for online payment, if any, must be borne by the candidate.

Exam pattern and marking scheme

The recruitment uses online objective tests with stage-wise differences by post. Tests include sectional papers and time limits as prescribed for preliminary, main or single-level exams. A penalty of 0.25 marks is applied for each wrong answer in objective tests; unattempted questions are not penalised.

  • Preliminary exam (Office Assistant / Officer Scale-I): Reasoning and Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude; 80 marks; 45 minutes.
  • Main exam (Office Assistant / Officer Scale-I): Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, English/Hindi Language, Numerical Ability/Quantitative Aptitude; 200 marks; 120 minutes.
  • Officer Scale-III single-level exam: Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Financial Awareness, English/Hindi Language, Quantitative Aptitude & Data Interpretation; 200 marks; 120 minutes.

Selection process

Selection stages vary by post and combine online examinations and interviews where applicable. Weightage and qualifying marks are prescribed for officer interviews.

  • Office Assistant (Multipurpose): Preliminary Exam → Main Exam → Provisional Allotment (based on Main Exam marks and actual vacancies reported by the RRB).
  • Officer Scale-I: Preliminary Exam → Main Exam → Common Interview → Provisional Allotment.
  • Officer Scale-II & III: Single-level online exam → Common Interview → Provisional Allotment.
  • Interview: Out of 100 marks; minimum qualifying marks are 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).
  • Weightage for Officer posts: 80% online exam and 20% interview.
  • Interviews are coordinated by the Nodal RRB with assistance from NABARD and IBPS.

How to apply

Applications must be submitted only through the IBPS online registration portal. Follow the steps below and ensure all uploads meet the specifications in Annexure-III of the notification.

  • Visit the official IBPS website and open the “CRP for RRBs” link.
  • Choose the appropriate link for Officers (Scale-I, II & III) or Office Assistants (Multipurpose).
  • Click “CLICK HERE FOR NEW REGISTRATION” and enter basic details to generate a provisional registration number and password (also sent by SMS/email).
  • Log in with the provisional credentials to complete the application form and upload required documents (photograph, signature, thumb impression, handwritten declaration, Class 10 certificate, and category/disability certificates where applicable).
  • Pay the application fee/intimation charges online during the registration window.
  • Take a printout of the final submitted application form for future reference.

Documents required

Candidates must keep scanned copies of all required certificates and identity documents ready for upload as per the specifications in the notification.

  • Proof of date of birth (birth certificate or Class 10/SSLC certificate showing DOB).
  • Photo identity proof.
  • Mark-sheets/certificates for the qualifying degree (result declared on or before 27.09.2026).
  • Experience certificate(s), where applicable.
